Writing for the ones who are living with ghosts, not haunted by them, Bear Teddington combines horror and fantasy into sometimes spooky, sometimes sweet (usually a little surreal) stories about the everyday horror that has become so commonplace and unremarkable for so many people who have survived trauma.
Seamlessly merging the fantastical with the real, they weave together tales of survival, monsters, magic, and the kind of resilience that comes with living through The Horrors.
They also write more casual criticism on media, especially concerning LGBT+ and feminist representation.
Bear Teddington grew up around Philadelphia and moved to Massachusetts after all her family migrated back there in her late 20s.
She writes #OwnVoices stories with disaster bis, agender characters, trauma (& most importantly trauma recovery), depression, and anxiety.
